Minor changes since publication
Month 2024: We have simplified the guideline by removing recommendations on general principles of care that are covered in other NICE guidelines (for example, the NICE guideline on service user experience in adult mental health).
This is a presentational change only, and no changes to practice are intended.
December 2020: We linked to our list of other NICE guidelines on mental health services in recommendation 1.1.2 and to the Learning Disability Annual Health Check electronic clinical template (2017) in recommendation 1.6.1.
