NICE has said Leukomed Sorbact can be used in the NHS for caesarean section and vascular surgery wounds. It is an option for wounds that are expected to produce a low to moderate amount of fluid.
Leukomed Sorbact is a dressing that binds to microbes that cause infection, so they are removed when the dressing is changed. This may reduce surgical site infection and the need for antibiotics or further stays in hospital.
