NICE has said KardiaMobile can be used in the NHS for detecting atrial fibrillation (AF) for people with suspected paroxysmal AF, who have symptoms such as palpitations and who would have ambulatory monitoring.
KardiaMobile is a portable electrocardiogram (ECG) recorder that can be used anywhere to record an ECG at any time. It links to a smart phone app, which classifies the reading as normal, possible AF, tachycardia, bradycardia or unclassified. The readings can be made available to to a healthcare professional directly as soon as they are taken.
