Update information
November 2022: We made changes to statement 3 of this quality standard to align it with the updated NICE guideline on fractures (complex): assessment and management. The recommendation numbers, definitions and links to the source guidance have been updated. Data sources and links have also been updated throughout.
Minor changes since publication
November 2025: Data sources have been updated. The main change reflects the Trauma Audit and Research Network data collection being re-established by NHS England as the National Major Trauma Registry.
