TA97 Depression and anxiety - computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (CCBT): review update - December 2013

Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No.97; Computerised cognitive behaviour therapy for depression and anxiety (recommendation 1.4)

Decision to defer the review

Recommendations 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 of TA97 have been updated by various clinical guidelines.  The Institute has recently looked at the evidence relating to OCFighter for OCD (recommendation 1.4) to ascertain whether sufficient new evidence has emerged for the Appraisal Committee to be asked to undertake a full review of the appraisal.

There is no significant new evidence available relating to recommendation 1.4 of TA97 at this time, but there is an ongoing UK RCT involving OCFighter, which is due to report in March 2016 – Obsessive Compulsive Treatment Efficacy Trial (OCTET).

Consequently we have decided to defer the consideration of the review until within 6 months of the publication of the results of the OCTET trial.
