What's happening in accreditation?
Accreditation and Quality Standards
There are close links between accreditation and quality standards. Where relevant, accredited sources of information are considered in the development of NICE quality standards.
To date, accredited sources of guidance have been used in development of the following NICE Quality Standards:
- Breast Cancer
- Ovarian Cancer
- Supporting people to live well with dementia
New individual guideline assessment pilot
To support the quality standards programme timetable, we are piloting a programme to assess development processes for individual guidelines. The first assessment in the pilot has just been completed and further information is available on the individual guideline decisions web page.
Observing Accreditation Advisory Committee meetings
Registration to observe the 11 February Committee meeting will be opening soon.
The next committee meeting dates are:
- 11 February 2014 - London
- 16 April 2014 - Manchester
Congratulations to the following organisations who have attained NICE accreditation for a guidance development process:
- British Society of Gastroenterology
- BOSCH Healthcare for the processes used to develop their
- Royal College of Physicians
