NICE's Equality Scheme
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is committed to promoting equality and eliminating unlawful discrimination. It aims to comply fully with all legal obligations to:
- promote race and disability equality and equality of opportunity between men and women, and
- eliminate unlawful discrimination on grounds of race, disability, age, sex and gender, sexual orientation, and religion or belief in the way it carries out its functions and in its employment policies and practices.
NICE's equality scheme sets out how it is meeting these obligations on equality and discrimination and what it still needs to do. Both the equality scheme itself and the plan for implementing the actions approved by NICE's Board in March 2007 are available below.
