A guide for patients and carers: contributing to a NICE clinical guideline

This guide shows you how you can contribute to the development of a clinical guideline. It aims to:

• help organisations representing the interests of patients and carers take part in the development of a NICE clinical guideline

• help people bringing a patient or carer perspective to a guideline development group to understand their role.

The introductory section gives a brief summary of the guideline development process. The following sections guide you through the process with a brief description of each stage and the actions you can take.
