Clinical guideline development methods

The guidelines manual has been updated. It explains how NICE develops clinical guidelines and provides advice on the technical aspects of guideline development. It also contains An overview for stakeholders, the public and the NHS (2007 edition).

This document replaces the guidelines manual (last updated April 2006).

The 'short clinical guideline manual' describes the process for developing short clinical guidelines. The content of this paper will be included in the next update of the Guidelines Manual'
