Public health guidance process and method guides

The public health process and methods guides explain how NICE develops public health guidance, and provide advice on the technical aspects of development. The guides have been updated following public consultation in 2011, and the third editions of these documents were published in September 2012.

Guidance scoped from September 2012 will follow the process and methods described in the 2012 editions; guidance already in development will continue to follow the 2009 editions. Each draft and published guidance will specify which editions have been used.

The Process and Methods guides for public health are based on a conceptual framework. View the published version.
