In 2004, NICE published documents describing their updated technology appraisal methods and process and the associated appeal process as well as a series of how-to guides.
The Department of Health and the Welsh Assembly Government refer topics to NICE in batches or ‘waves'. This table shows the process used for each wave of topics:
