NICE International scoping visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo

NICE International has undertaken a scoping visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The major aim of the visit was to engage with local stakeholders in order to understand how medical technology is procured, distributed and used in DRC, what the major challenges are and whether the expertise by NICE and its academics and professional partners may add value in improving efficiency and outcomes in medical technology procurement and use.

The report makes recommendations on the kinds of data and institutions required to strengthen decision making processes, and outlines where NICE could add value through linking with and building on existing programmes.
