NICE audience encoding scheme
The NICE audience encoding scheme covers the category of user for whom the resource is intended.
| Audience | Description |
|---|---|
| Academic | Universities, academic institutions, researchers |
| General public | Members of the general public |
| Healthcare industry | Pharmaceutical companies and other private health organisations which are not NHS |
| Health professionals | NHS professionals, other professionals that are not academic such as dentists, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, surgeons. |
| NHS organisations | Primary care trust, arms length bodies etc. |
| Patients and carers | Individuals and their carers. |
| Patient and carer organisations | Patient and carer organisations such as Age Concern, Macmillan Cancer Relief, Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust etc. |
| Press and Media | Members of the press and media. |
| Public health sector | Directors of Public Health, local government authorities, voluntary and community groups |
