Mercy Jeyasingham MBE, Non-Executive Director

Mercy JeyasinghamMercy Jeyasingham has been a non-executive director at NICE since 2001.

Career history

Mercy is a management consultant, trainer and interim manager and has held senior posts in both the voluntary and public sector. She has also been an executive and non-executive board member of a number of national and local organisations. During her career Mercy has held the following positions:

  • Independent patient representative of the NICE partners council
  • Chief executive of a national children's charity
  • Director of Registration for the General Social Care Council (interim)
  • Head of Accreditation for the Royal College of Nursing
  • Head of care standards for a London social services department

She is also a member of the fitness to practice committee of the General Optical Council, a trustee of Afiya (a national organisation addressing the health needs of black and minority ethnic communities), and was formerly a member of the Ministerial Advisory board for the Medicines Controls Agency.
