The National Institute for Clinical Excellence aims to ensure that the best candidate is selected for the job regardless of age, colour, creed, disability, ethnic origin, marital status, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, social status or trade union membership. To achieve this objective, it is essential that all those concerned with the recruitment and selection procedures have a clear understanding of the job to be filled, its requirements and the characteristics of the likely job holder in terms of skills, qualifications, previous experience etc.
