Public Health guidance topics
NICE has recently received new referrals from Ministers on the following topics:
- Delaying the onset of disability, frailty and dementia in later life
- Mental health among prisoners: providing integrated support from the health, social care and criminal justice sectors
- Offenders: prevention and early treatment of mental health problems
- Older people with multiple co-morbidities - integrating health and social care
- Oral health - local authority commissioned dental health programmes
- Oral health - in nursing and residential care
- Primary, secondary and tertiary interventions to promote mental well being and independence of older people
- Prisons: preventing, diagnosing and managing physical conditions and diseases
- Promoting oral health - the patient experience
- Sexually harmful behaviour: identifying and managing young people at risk
- Workplace health - employees with chronic diseases and long-term conditions
- Workplace health - older employees
- Workplace health - the role of line manager

- Hepatitis B and C - ways to promote and offer testing to people at risk of infection

- Preventing type 2 diabetes - risk identification and interventions for individuals at high risk
- Social and emotional wellbeing - early years
- Smoking cessation - acute and maternity services
- Smoking cessation - mental health services
- Tobacco - harm reduction approaches to smoking
- Tobacco - helping people of South Asian origin to stop using smokeless tobacco
- Walking and cycling - local measure to promote walking and cycling as a form of travel or recreation
