NICE Annual Conference 2012 - programme unveiled
Shared learning and translating national guidance into local practice to deliver high quality care will be the focus of the NICE Annual Conference 2012.
Taking place at the ICC in Birmingham on 15 - 16 May, the NICE Annual Conference 2012 will also explore how NICE's medical technologies and diagnostics evaluation programme is helping make the most of the new technologies being made available to the NHS.
Delegates will be able to get involved in the debate about the future of drug evaluation and NICE's role in it.
With a mixture of keynote addresses from leading national figures and practical sessions where you can share tips and tactics with those making a difference on the ground, the Conference will consider key issues including:
- What is NICE's role in the context of current reforms?
- How are quality standards being used in practice?
- How will NICE work with the NHS Commissioning Board?
- How can we foster a better working relationship between the NHS and industry?
For the first time ever, there will be a dedicated implementation stream where you can hear from colleagues from across the country on how they have improved local practice by using NICE guidance and other products.
Delegates will be able to get to the heart of challenges facing their sector at dedicated sector-specific networking lunch tables.
If you have been working to put NICE guidance into practice, we want to hear from you! The NICE Shared Learning Awards and poster zone at the Conference will celebrate the best examples of how NICE guidance has been put into practice to improve care in the NHS, Local Authorities, charities, voluntary organisations and elsewhere. To enter this year's competition, submit your example online now.
A limited number of full bursary packages are also available for national patient, carer and voluntary organisations to attend the Conference.
