CPD, CKD, NICE, ADHD, BMJ, RA... more than just letters!

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an essential part of practice for healthcare professionals, and the latest batch of NICE and BMJ FREE Learning on-line education modules will support clinicians in understanding some of our recent clinical guidelines. The following tools are now available through our website, and at BMJ Learning.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

Users need to complete a simple registration process to access the tools - you DO NOT have to be a BMA member or a BMJ subscriber. Each module uses a variety of teaching techniques, which have been proven to show effective learning transfer. The tools are open to all healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists.

The tools can help users to:

  • Become more aware of recent evidence as summarised in the relevant NICE guidance
  • Challenge misconceptions about implementation of the guidance
  • Apply newly acquired knowledge in their practice and address any potential barriers
  • Reflect and compare their own practice against the recommendations

Certificates of completion are provided.

Changes to current modules

The module, Anxiety and Depression, launched in 2007 has been withdrawn. It will be relaunched as three separate modules - Anxiety, Depression in Adults and Depression in chronic physical health problems.
