Pregnant women living in difficult social circumstances, including those who misuse drugs or experience domestic abuse, need specialised, flexible antenatal care to prevent serious complications before and after giving birth, says new guidance published today by NICE.

NICE has today published its 200th technology appraisal guidance – a partial update of existing NICE guidance on treatments for chronic hepatitis C. The new guidance reflects changes in the marketing authorisations for peginterferon alfa (2a and 2b).

New tools to help manage lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men

An education module is available offering advice on the effective management of LUTS in men. The interactive module will guide you through a real life consultation. NICE has also produced a commissioning guide to help put the recommendations into practice. It highlights services for disinvestment or decommissioning, enabling commissioners to release resources or generate savings.
