National Institute for Clinical Excellence to Review Technology Appraisal Consultation
Following the disclosure of confidential information relating to the appraisal Interferon beta /glatiramer, the institute's Board has decided to undertake a review of the process for handling appraisal documentation used in the consultation process.
Andrew Dillon, Chief Executive of the Institute said, "The Institute has indicated previously that it would review the process for consultation and now is an appropriate time. I would stress that this is a review of the process for all technology appraisals, not specifically the Interferon beta /glatiramer appraisal. We will involve both the Institute's Partners Council and stakeholders in the appraisal process. The Institute will be contacting stakeholders in the near future".
