Appraisal of sibutramine for obesity
The Institute's appraisal of sibutramine for obesity had been placed on hold pending confirmation of the details of the marketing authorisation for this product.
The Institute has now received these details from Knoll Limited and the appraisal has recommenced.
Sibutramine (Reductil) will be considered by the Appraisal Committee at its meeting in June 2001 and will follow the usual appraisal process, ttherefore the Institute anticipates it will issue guidance on sibutramine in November 2001.
