2003/029 NICE launches first Interventional Procedures Guidance to protect patients and support health professionals when performing innovative surgical procedures

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) today launches the first three pieces of guidance from its new Interventional Procedures Programme. The guidance covers uterine artery embolisation for fibroids, radio frequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) and minimally invasive placement of pectus bar.
