Summary

We consulted on a new abbreviated technology appraisal process from 1 June 2016 to 24 August 2016. 

Thank you to everyone who commented. We will be reviewing your comments and working on amendments to the proposal. We plan to present an updated version to the NICE board in November 2016.

Consultation description

We are developing an abbreviated technology appraisal process (ATA).

We propose to use this process for new technologies that provide similar or greater health benefits, compared with existing NICE-recommended technologies at a similar or lower cost.
