How we support healthtech developers

With around 2 million healthtech products registered for UK use, differentiating your innovation from the competition is vital.

A NICE recommendation helps you cut through the noise, demonstrate your product’s value and provides a smoother path to market.

How to engage with NICE

Ready to explore how NICE could help you access the NHS market?

Follow these 4 steps:

  1. View our healthtech eligibility criteria and determine whether your technology is suitable for NICE evaluation.

  2. Check our priorities list to see if we're prioritising the disease area or topic your product addresses.

  3. Register your innovation. Let us know about your technology by registering it with the NHS Innovation Service.

  4. Get expert support. Engage with our NICE Advice service to ensure your evidence meets NHS and NICE requirements.

Providing a smoother path to the NHS

Healthtech developers like you are engaging with NICE to help them stand out in a crowded marketplace and speed up NHS adoption.

Achieving a positive NICE recommendation can provide:

  • stronger credibility and competitive advantage in UK and international markets

  • an opportunity for national funding and rollout of game-changing innovations that have a robust evidence-base and meet the NHS’s most pressing needs

  • a smoother route to market.

We also offer trusted support from our fee-based NICE Advice service to help optimise your evaluation journey.

NHS trusts often find it challenging to assess the range of new health technologies available. A positive recommendation from NICE, affirming a product's clinical and cost effectiveness, is so valuable.

Further resources and funding

We understand that securing funding is often the main barrier to implementation. Organisations like the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), your regional Health Innovation Network, and the NHS Innovation Service all offer funding support and adoption resources. If you've received a NICE early use recommendation, NIHR offers dedicated funding, with 4 opportunities to apply each year.
