    This guideline covers the prevention, assessment and non-surgical management of pelvic floor dysfunction in women aged 12 and over. It aims to raise awareness and help women to reduce their risk of pelvic floor dysfunction. For women who have pelvic floor dysfunction, the guideline recommends interventions based on their specific symptoms.

  2. Reducing sexually transmitted infections (NG221)

    This guideline covers interventions to prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in people aged 16 and over. It aims to reduce the transmission of all STIs, including HIV, and includes ways to help increase the uptake of STI testing and vaccines for human papillomavirus (HPV) and hepatitis A and B.

    This guideline covers identifying, treating and managing depression in people aged 18 and over.     This guideline covers diagnosing and managing first or recurrent upper or lower urinary tract infection (UTI) in babies, children and young people under 16. It aims to achieve more consistent clinical practice, based on accurate diagnosis and effective management. It does not cover babies, children and young people with urinary catheters in situ, neurogenic bladders, significant pre-existing urinary tract disorders (uropathies), underlying renal disease or immunosuppression, or recurrent UTI in sexually active girls and young women under 16. It also does not cover babies, children and young people in intensive care units.

  6. Self-harm: assessment, management and preventing recurrence (NG225)

    This guideline covers assessment, management and preventing recurrence for children, young people and adults who have self-harmed. It includes those with a mental health problem, neurodevelopmental disorder or learning disability and applies to all sectors that work with people who have self-harmed.

    This guideline covers diagnosing and treating an aneurysmal (caused by a ruptured aneurysm) subarachnoid haemorrhage and its complications. It provides recommendations to improve diagnosis and ensure that the most effective treatments are offered. It includes guidance on follow-up care and information for people (aged 16 and over) who have had an aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage, their families and carers.

It supports the aims of the NHS Long Term Plan , which includes actions to improve immunisation coverage by GPs (including the changes to vaccinations and immunisations detailed in the 2021/2022 and 2022/23 GP contracts ) and support a narrowing of health inequalities.

    This guideline covers using colonoscopy to check for signs of bowel cancer in people aged 18 and over with ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease (types of inflammatory bowel disease) or adenomas (also known as polyps). It aims to prevent cancer and prolong life by offering advice on identifying early bowel cancer in adults most at risk.

  40. Tobacco: preventing uptake, promoting quitting and treating dependence (NG209)

    This guideline covers support to stop smoking for everyone aged 12 and over, and help to reduce people's harm from smoking if they are not ready to stop in one go . It also covers ways to prevent children, young people and young adults aged 24 and under from taking up smoking. The guideline brings together and updates all NICE's previous guidelines on using tobacco, including smokeless tobacco . It covers nicotine replacement therapy and e-cigarettes to help people stop smoking or reduce their harm from smoking. It does not cover using tobacco products such as ‘heat not burn’ tobacco.

  41. Alcohol-use disorders: diagnosis and management of physical complications (CG100)

    This guideline covers care for adults and young people (aged 10 years and older) with physical health problems that are completely or partly caused by an alcohol-use disorder. It aims to improve the health of people with alcohol-use disorders by providing recommendations on managing acute alcohol withdrawal and treating alcohol-related conditions.

  42. Vitamin B12 deficiency in over 16s: diagnosis and management (NG239)

    This guideline covers recognising, diagnosing and managing vitamin B12 deficiency in people aged 16 and over, including deficiency caused by autoimmune gastritis. It also covers monitoring for gastric cancer in people with autoimmune gastritis.

  43. COVID-19 rapid guideline: managing COVID-19 (NG191)

    This guideline covers managing COVID-19 in babies, children, young people and adults in community and hospital settings. It includes recommendations on communication, assessment, therapeutics for COVID-19, non-invasive respiratory support, preventing and managing acute complications, and identifying and managing co-infections.

    This guideline covers the assessment and early management of fever with no obvious cause in children aged under 5. It aims to improve clinical assessment and help healthcare professionals diagnose serious illness among young children who present with fever in primary and secondary care.

    This guideline covers diagnosing and managing gastro-oesophageal reflux disease in children and young people (under 18s). It aims to raise awareness of symptoms that need investigating and treating, and to reassure parents and carers that regurgitation is common in infants under 1 year.

  46. Neonatal infection: antibiotics for prevention and treatment (NG195)

    This guideline covers preventing bacterial infection in healthy babies of up to and including 28 days corrected gestational age, treating pregnant women whose unborn baby is at risk of infection, and caring for babies of up to and including 28 days corrected gestational age with a suspected or confirmed bacterial infection. It aims to reduce delays in recognising and treating infection and prevent unnecessary use of antibiotics. The guideline does not cover viral infections.

    This guideline covers recognising, diagnosing and managing bacterial meningitis and meningococcal disease in babies, children, young people and adults. It aims to reduce death and disability by helping healthcare professionals recognise meningitis and treat it quickly and effectively.
