Step-by-step guide to registering as a stakeholder
If you want to stay up-to-date with what we’re currently doing, and help develop our products, you could register as a NICE stakeholder.
Organisations only need to register once to be a stakeholder at NICE. However, each time you want to comment on a particular guideline or quality standard, you'll need to register a contact from your organisation for that topic.
A maximum of 2 people can be listed as contacts from each organisation for each guideline or quality standard.
The registration process
Step 1: check to see if your organisation is already registered
Each piece of guidance has a list of registered stakeholders. You can find the list of registered stakeholders:
on the project documents tab, for guidance that's in development
on the history tab, for published guidance.
Step 2: make sure your organisation is eligible
You should read our information about who can register as a stakeholder before you continue.
Make sure you have permission from your organisation to register.
Step 3: choose the topic your organisation is interested in
Visit our register as a stakeholder page to see the various topics you can get involved in.
Consultations already in progress
If a consultation has already started, you can still register.
If a consultation is due to close, register and submit your comments. We will let you know if your application to register as a stakeholder has been successful.
You should register your interest as early as possible.
Who is registered from my organisation?
To find out who is registered for a particular guideline email guidelines@nice.org.uk. For quality standards, email qualitystandards@nice.org.uk.
A maximum of 2 people can be listed as contacts for each organisation for each guideline or quality standard.
How can individuals get involved?
We accept comments from individuals who do not represent a registered stakeholder organisation. These will be considered, but will not receive a formal response. So, we encourage you to submit your comments through a registered stakeholder organisation.
Other ways to get involved
If you want to be involved in shaping NICE guidance and products, you can also:
apply to join a committee
observe or ask questions at one of our meetings in public
email our people and communities team at pip@nice.org.uk.
